Randy and Sonja began dating in 1999 while running for the Shasta College cross-country team in Northern California. Randy was named the Conference Champion and Sonja was awarded All-League. Their romance grew and they were married on October 10, 2004. Randy graduated from California State University, Chico with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and a Math Minor. Randy currently works for Cymer, in Rancho Bernardo, as a laser test engineer. On his free time, Randy enjoys playing a round of golf and he also plays the drums for a local classic blues and rock band. Sonja graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a BA degree in Liberal Studies while focusing in the fields of English and Child Development. Sonja proudly began coaching for Amazing Athletes in February of 2005 and was named the first annual 'Coach of the Year' award in 2007. Buying an Amazing Athletes franchise was an easy decision since Sonja was raised in a world of sports and values the benefits of an athletic lifestyle. Sonja was a gymnast for 13 years while her mother owned a gymnastics facility but basketball has been a larger role since her father and grandfather have both been coaches in the NBA. On her free time, Sonja enjoys scrapbooking, gardening, and traveling.
