Amazing Athletes of Colorado

Kathy lives in Northern Colorado with her husband Mark and three daughters, Kylie (6), Kelsey (4) and Lauren (3). After fifteen years as a Certified Public Accountant, Kathy is thrilled to now have a business of her own that is such a perfect fit with her passion for the desperate need for sports and fitness in the lives of children today. Kathy is originally from San Diego and grew up playing competitive soccer year-round. As a teenager she played with the CA Olympic Development Team, then went on to play collegiate soccer for four years at the University of Denver, earning an NCAA All-American nomination her senior year. Although she still occasionally dusts off her soccer cleats, Kathy now focuses her competitive spirit on running. She has run 4 full marathons to date, and placed in her age group in numerous half-marathons, 10-K’s and 5-K’s. She also has a passion for tennis, competing in many USTA leagues throughout the year. She also enjoys snow skiing, water skiing and hiking with her husband and kids in the Rocky Mountains. Kathy graduated from the University of Denver with a Masters degree in Accounting as well as an MBA. She holds an active CPA license in the state of Colorado. She spent two years with a large accounting firm, and then to pursue her interest in the sports business, spent nearly six years in accounting/finance with the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) and Denver Nuggets (NBA). Mark and Kathy then settled in beautiful Loveland, CO (Mark’s hometown), and she has spent the past 7 years as Controller for a large residential construction/land development company. Mark is a graduate of CU Boulder and is a commercial airline pilot. Kathy has always had a passion for sports and fitness, a profound love for children, and a knack for numbers. She jumped at the opportunity to combine all of these things into a rewarding business that truly has the power to change children’s lives. Kathy loves nothing more than planting the seed in a child that will grow into a love of sports for a lifetime. The Amazing Athletes program does this on a daily basis with kids all across America and she is proud to be a part of it!
