Amazing Athletes Program ProvidersAmazing Athletes of South Central New JerseyShawn was born and raised in New Jersey and has always had a passion for sports. From the age of 6 years old he played all types of sports ranging from soccer, wrestling, and roller hockey to playing both football and baseball in high school. Shawn graduated with a B.A. in Communication from William Paterson University in Wayne NJ, where he played four years on the university ice hockey team. During his time on college breaks he worked at Fort Monmouth, NJ where he was a part of a team that organized and taught science and math summer camps to children aged 8-16. Upon graduation, he worked in professional business sales for five years until he discovered the Amazing Athletes franchise. Amazing Athletes allows him to take both his passion of sports and experience with children and incorporate them in a program where he can help children learn about sports and fitness at a early childhood age and most importantly have fun while doing it! Shawn and his wife Tressa reside in Lawrenceville, NJ where he is also a volunteer little league coach for children aged 8-12 years old. On his spare time he likes to play in organized ice hockey leagues and spend time with his wife and dog Brandy.Joe was born in Albany, NY and began his active lifestyle playing both lacrosse and soccer throughout high school. While in high school, he worked for Stomping Ground, an indoor play arena, organizing birthday parties for children aged 3-10. Joe attended The University of Massachusetts where he continued his lacrosse career with the University. During college he worked in low income areas of Boston for JumpStart, an AmeriCorps program, using language and literacy to prepare pre-school children to succeed in their primary education. Joe graduated with a B.A. in Economics and while attending UMass he met his wife Melanie. Upon graduation, Joe and Melanie moved and settled down in Bucks County, Pennsylvania where they both pursued their careers. Joe believes that incorporating sports and fitness at an early childhood age is very important. Amazing Athletes allows him to teach children the fundamentals of sports and develop their gross and motor skills to help children become more coordinated and confident with their abilities which will set a great precedent at an early age to succeed in life! Outside of Amazing Athletes, Joe enjoys playing ice hockey, flag football, and watching the Yankees as well as spending quality time with his wife Melanie and his dog Shelby. Matt was born and raised in the Buffalo, NY area where he grew up playing ice hockey, soccer and baseball. After high school, he attended The University of New Hampshire where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology. Upon graduation, Matt relocated to the Princeton, NJ area to pursue his career in a related field and where he has since settled down. Matt has always enjoyed playing sports. Whether it was the backyard neighborhood pickup or organized little league games, athletics and fitness played an integral role in the development of Matt’s physical, social, and mental skills and feels that it should be part of every child’s lifestyle. Amazing Athletes gives him the opportunity to give back what his father, family, and friends provided for him. Matt continues to be active in athletics and participates in numerous men’s ice hockey leagues and fitness training programs. South Central New Jersey Schools
